I am sixteen years old in my junior year) and on a foreign exchange in Chile right now. I just found out last year that I have a passion for languages. I can speak English and Spanish; I´m looking forward to learning a lot more including French and German. What classes should I take in high school in order to make a good resume for myself for colleges? What classes should I take in college? What kind of jobs could I have in international business?

Do well on English, sociology, philosophy and math. Your thinking why those classes, because international business deals with different people and those classes will broaden your way of thinking and understand more about other cultures. So, when you get a job somewhere overseas you’ll have a better understand about other culture and not face culture shocks. In college, there is actually a program for international business – the college will have a curriculum for you to follow. Good luck

I am flying from Seattle to Newark to San Jose, Costa Rica. I was wondering what I must do in the Newark airport in order to get to my international flight? Will I have to check in again?

Gerald J has it right. When you get to the airport in Seattle ask at check in whether your bags will go straight through to Costa Rica. The check in person will know by the codes on the baggage labels.

US Today’s website has one for domestic flights. I need international. also, the plane will arrive Tuesday, so I can’t use a site like Cheapflights.com which only deals with flights a certain number of days in advance. (I tried.)

They take in money by the boatload (well maybe only half a boatload these days, but you get the idea).

Their air conditioning bill is probably bigger than that.

Second, they buy insurance on these jackpots, so the insurance company picks up the tab. (The insurance companies offload the risk to other insurance companies in a practice called re-insurance. The pain is well spread around.)

They publicize this so that more suckers will show up figuring "If this woman can do it, so can I." That leads to many, many small wins.

Foreign students who graduate from U.S. universities with math, engineering or science degrees can now work in the United States for up to 29 months following graduation, says a new Department of Homeland Security (DHS) rule.

The new regulation—Extending Period of Optional Practical Training by 17 Months for F-1 Nonimmigrant Students With STEM Degrees and Expanding Cap-Gap Relief for All F-1 Students With Pending H-1B Petitions—took effect April 8, 2008, the day it was posted on the Federal Register.

Under the new rule, certain F-1 visa holders who have completed a science, technology, engineering or mathematics (STEM) degree and who are offered a position with a U.S. employer can work for that employer for up to 29 months under DHS’ “optional practical training” (OPT) program. The old regulation limited STEM graduates to 12 months of employment by U.S. companies, but the new rule increases the OPT program by 17 months provided the employer is enrolled in the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services’ (USCIS) E-Verify employment verification program, the rule says.

In addition, an F-1 visa holder who has graduated and who an employer has filed an H-1B visa petition for, will receive an automatic extension, along with any grant of OPT work authorization, until Oct. 1 of the federal fiscal year for which the H-1B visa is being requested, the regulation says. The extension is to allow F-1 visa holders whose OPT will expire before the start date of a petition filed under the H-1B visa cap to remain in the United States and work through the beginning of an anticipated H-1B visa employment start date of Oct. 1. Graduating F-1 visa holders who do not have OPT work authorization but for whom an employer has filed an H-1B visa application will still have their lawful status automatically extended, but those visa holders will not be authorized to work until the H-1B petition takes effect, the rule says. All the automatic extensions of status for F-1 visa holders also apply to dependents holding F-2 visas. But if the H-1B visa petition filed on behalf of the F-1 visa holder is rejected, denied or revoked, the automatic extension of status and work authorization will terminate immediately, the rule says.

Our wedding anniversary is important to me and I always make a special dinner and so on. To me it’s a symbol of how time has glued us together and how strong we are as persons since life has been though at times. We’ve been together for over 20 years now.

Otherwise I don’t find events important, it’s more things that I do out of tradition such as celebrating New Years and so on.

I am in charge of the marketing/sales of an international conference held in China. Which is the best way to market it oversea? Finding an agent? How can I find one on commission basis after sales? Thanks for help in advance.

Hi Jade! A few questions for you to get you pointed in the right direction:

1. Is your organization based in the States or is it also based in China?
2. Are you marketing/selling to organizations in China or the States?

Might have some advice for you based on the answers to the above questions. (I’ve got over 20 years of experience in the meetings/conference industry.)

it’s a phone scam – but yes there is a bank in Scotland called the Royal Bank of Scotland,(But one with International at the end I am not sure) I know this because I have an account with them (RBS), and they have never phoned me asking for anything. If you have an account them, phone them and explain what happened, they will probably say it is a scam, and do not give any info to them when they call you., always phone them if you need to get in contact with them over the phone.
