How does development of nuclear technologies affect international security?

Posted by admin on March 20th, 2010 and filed under international technology | 1 Comment »

Iran for example.

The problem with Iran is that they have a President who says a lot of nonsense that maybe he doesnt even mean or believe. People get worried that if they had the bomb what would they do with it? Bomb Israel, Europe, the US, Saudi?

So when you get a terrible weapon why did you want it and what will you use it for are the issues. These two questions give rise to a lot of speculation and worry. Personally I would worry more anout North Korea as they have nothing to loose.

We have them but of course we are the good guys so we wouldnt do anything bad with them.

how expensive is it do go to university in another country as an international student?

Posted by admin on March 18th, 2010 and filed under go international | 5 Comments »

I am an Australian and still in high school (year 10) in Australia.
I want to go to either America or England for university as their are a number of schools over there that I am interested in. I am not a citizen of either country so I would apply as an international student. Does anyone know how expensive this is? Any tips from people who have done this themselves?
can you please give me an estimate of how much it is, thanks. :-)

Also, if some international students could let me know that would be great!

Hi Louise,

International students with the exception of medicine pay in 2009 / 10 around £9,000 and I have international student paying much more for medicine. The £9,000 does not include money for living, does not include textbooks, does not include fees, and it does not include the money the Home Office requires for you to show that you have to support yourself. A conservative estimate for a year of study in the UK based on general trends you should have at least £22,500 available to you for one year of study in the UK as an international student.

In regard to the US the cost is very much dependent on the school you are attending and where it is located. A rough estimate for you to study in the US would be $30,000 – $45,000 (USD) per year. Plus I would recommend considering more money due to the fact health care in America is prohibitively expensive and even with insurance it is still expensive. I would recommend a higher figure if you will be studying in New York or California. If you were to ask a generic figure to cover all situations including paying for health care I would recommend a figure in the range of $50,000 – $75,000 (USD ./ per year).

For both cases you will need to secure most of the funding yourself as you will most likely to get no funding from the government in each country. This means you will have find it in Australia and once you have secured your funding then you will have to make the applications. From there you will have to apply for the appropriate visa. For the UK you will need to make the application soon or may not have enough time to get the appropriate visa. In the United States I am not sure and it may be too late to start the process.

My feeling the biggest challenge for you will be adjusting to the different style of education and being so far from home. Living in another country is not an easy adjustment and it take some time to adjust. If you study in another country you will have to remember to adhere to your visa requirements, maintain acceptable attendance, and make sure you are passing your classes. Should you fail to do the above you may find that your visa is revoked and you are removed from the country. This means for you your purpose in the country is to study, not to work and to abide by the laws of the country including your visa conditions. Whereas any friends that you make who are citizens will have a bit more liberty to do things than you and this will require you to be assertive to ensure you are not risking your visa.

Guess at how much it would cost to change an Multi Continental International Flight Plan?

Posted by admin on March 18th, 2010 and filed under international flight | 1 Comment »

My Visa in colombia expires on June 1st, but my flight doesn’t leave till 13th of June. The flight plan is Cali, Colombia to Bogota, Colombia to New York, USA to Tokyo Japan to Perth Australia. It now needs to be changed, because i will probably get deported before my plan leaves. Im not expecting any exact numbers, but would just like a guess price from anyone has been through similar circumstances with having to change international flight plans about two or three months before departure date. Help would be much appreciated. Gracias

I don’t understand your flight plan. Are these all layovers for a few hours or are you vacationing in these spots?

It costs roughly $250 to change an international flight plus if the new ticket is more expensive than the old one, you have to pay that additional cost. Because you are changing so far in advance, the new ticket probably won’t be more expensive.

If you bought all those locations separately (they are vacation spots, not layovers) then you will have to pay the $250 multiple times.

Would Delta Airlines be a good airline to use for international flights from JFK?

Posted by admin on March 18th, 2010 and filed under international flights | 3 Comments »

I’ve heard Delta’s international flights like to Europe are good. They offer lots of movies and entertainment options, have decent meals, and have good service. Is this true?

I flew Delta to Europe a few years ago and I didn’t have any problems. The food was good–the flight back was an afternoon flight and I remember the lunch as being surprisingly good for airplane food. I think that Delta now has these personal entertainment screens with on-demand movies, trivia, music, etc. These tv aren’t on every Delta aircraft, but I think they are on all the larger aricraft used for transatlantic flights, like the 767-400. Here is a website that has reviews of almost every major airline.

international academy of design and technology in tampa fl?

the music production class. is it any good? im 17 and after i get my ged i want to go to that school to learn about music production, but i just want to know if its legit or if its mediocre or what ever. anyone got any feedback from personal experience?

the tuition costs more than Harvard.
I’d stick with a normal state university, usf, fsu, UF….

4 years of one of those collegs = 1 year at IADT.

Unless you have a very big network in the music industry and know lots of people and have a very very very big shot at making it big, I wouldn’t accumulate such debt.

Who painted the really weird murals at the Denver International Airport?

Who painted them and why? Anyone have any solid factual information?

Thanks.

I think it was this guy (Leo Tanguma):

Here’s information about the so called (and absolutely non-existent, irrational and unfounded) "Denver Airport Conspiracy theory" on Skeptoid, which also discusses Leo Tanguma’s murals:
