What is the best international tourist destination for a 16 year boy to go alone for 3 months ?
Can you become a diplomat with a masters with in International relations? How do you go about doing that?
I want to be a diplomat, after a masters degree what jobs around that area can you apple for? I plan on going to uni to do an undergraduate course and then do a graduate qualification in international relations. I really want to be a diplomat, what can you do after?
Funnily enough I want to be exactly that also. Becoming a diplomat takes years and years of experience. You don’t just become one straight after school. My uncle is a judge and advised me that the best way to go about becoming a diplomat is to first become a lawyer. Study law and praticse it for a couple of years and then you could apply for jobs anywhere. Even if you wanted a job at the UN after graduating with a masters degree, you will need at least 2 years of relevant experience after MA. You say you haven’t even started your undergrad course yet so I am guessing you must be around 17. You’re still super young, life is not running away lol. I used to think it was when I was that age and thought I needed to rush everything and things would come easy for me but the world is tough and very competitive. You must have noticed most diplomats are 45+, not in their 20s. So my advice? Study law, I recommend practising law for maybe 10 years, get a job with a Non government organisation like the UN, GCHQ, EU… whatever and it starts from there.
Good luck, I hope you become a success!
What is/are the best school(s) for an international relations major?
I am thinking about going into international relations in college, hopefully to then go into international politics, working for the U.N. or U.S. State Dept.
Does anyone know which schools have the overall best international relations programs?
Thanks!
Georgetown and George Washington both have excellent international studies programs and because of their location, you can intern for the goverment.
Princeton has the Woodrow Wilson school, which is outstanding.
Columbia has a great international studies program and any college in NYC means you can at least apply to intern at the UN.
Bear in mind that all jobs at the UN and many jobs with the State Dept. require that you FLUENTLY speak AT LEAST two languages. If you want to work for groups like these, I would suggest at least minoring in a foreign language.
Why did’nt the NHL go international instead of going to small cities like nashville?
Why did’nt they go to London, Berlin, Moscow, Paris, Tokyo, Hong Kong, Mexico City, Munich, Rome, Madrid, Kiev, etc. the market is giant in Europe, They would do much more money then in Nashville, Phoenix, Florida, L-A, Atlanta, Tampa Bay, San Jose, Columbus, St Louis. Hockey would be much more popular, more competitive, and a much richer game. dont tell me it would be hard for teams to trip around europe, asia and america, it would be to exhausting, all you have to do is make it Inter-Continental, and face other continents rarely, like east vs west. I just dont understand NHL’s closed mind, thats why its not popular…
This is not the answer you want but I am putting in my 2 cents anyway.
Time and cost associated with such intense travel. (which I know about having travelled extensively = 18 countries, as well as 7 provinces and 30 states in the US as well as most of Mexico) through the years .. )
I am in favour of a European-based league/division though, and I think we have already discussed this topic previously. But in case you didn’t see my reply, I nominated cities such as Stockholm, Turku, Helsinki, Moscow, Kiev, Munich, Berlin, Madrid, Prague, Bratislava, Paris, London, Rome and Milan.
There might be cities on other continents that could afford to have a team but are there enough to have a seperate division? Not likely.

How do I go about hiring an international student on a visa?
I’m a student myself, an American citizen. I have a small programming company that contracts with my university. Its a sole proprietorship, and I only plan on hiring contract labor to have others do some work. What regulations do I have to follow to hire an international student as a contractor?

Do some high schools go on trips (international and US) for the holidays?
I’m just curious about this because usually holidays are spent with families… Do high schools sometimes organize field trips around holidays.. (I.E. Winter break; christmas, Hanukkah)
Some do have organized trips during holidays. My sister when on a school trip from Virginia to Russia and Denmark over the Christmas holidays when she was in high school.

I’m traveling international, but one stopover is with a different airline. Which gate do I first go to?
I will be traveling mainly with Cathay Pacific. But there is a stopover from Chicago to San Francisco. That domestic flight would first be through American Airlines. Only when I get to SFO do I transfer to Cathay Pacific. Do I go to the gate of American Airlines or Cathay Pacific?
cathay pacific. It will tell you on your reservation.
