i would like to attand and present a sceintific paper

You can find a list of meetings, events, and conferences in your particular field from the Canadian Society of Otolaryngology. They maintain a calendar of events which can be viewed here: http://www.entcanada.org/category4.asp

According to their website, the Canadian chapter is holding their 61st Annual Meeting from May 13th-16th in Montreal, Quebec. There’s also a conference in Prince Edward Island from August 3rd-5th, and one in Gatineau, Quebec from September 27th-30th.

You can also find a list of conferences held at international venues from that site. I only glanced quickly, but there are upcoming events held in both the US and the UK this summer.

Best of luck.

I wish to attend the upcoming International AIDS Conference in Toronto, Canada from 13th – 18th August. I already have an invitation letter and even have my research work submitted. I would be happy if anyone can help. Does anyone know how and where i can get a travel grant to attend AIDS Conference in Canada this August

Some Post Offices have the necessary Visa’s and/or Passports that you need to travel outside the United States. When I went to Toronto, all I needed was a Passport. Call your local Post Office and ask them which is the nearest one that you can apply at. Even with a Passport, you’d better give the right answers at the Border Patrol. lol

Why did so few scientists attend the Heartland Institutes’s 2008 International Conference on Climate Change?

Posted by admin on February 9th, 2010 and filed under international conference | 10 Comments »

"Several hundred people sat in a fifth-floor ballroom at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in Times Square on Monday eating pasta and trying hard to prove that they had unraveled the established science showing that humans are warming the world in potentially disruptive ways…but after the luncheon, when an organizer made an announcement asking all of the scientists in the large hall to move to the front for a group picture, 19 men did so."

http://www.nytimes.com/2008/03/04/science/earth/04climate.html?_r=2&oref=slogin&oref=slogin
Here are the bios of the conference speakers:
http://www.heartland.org/NewYork08/ConferenceBios.pdf

You’ve got theologians, economists, geographers, botanists, biologists, right-wing policy strategists, statistical consultants, TV weathermen, petroleum engineers…it’s hard to even find a name on here with any climate science experience.
Why do you think so few climate scientists attended this conference?

Particularly since the entire purpse of the conference was "to generate international media attention to the fact that many scientists believe forecasts of rapid warming and catastrophic events are not supported by sound science, and that expensive campaigns to reduce greenhouse gas emissions are not necessary or cost-effective"?
kathy,

You seem to be admitting that the accepted norm (aka SCIENTIFIC CONSENSUS) is that man made global warming is happening.

Why conservatives choose to believe the minority when the vast majority say it is happening makes no sense.
Dana,

I know but it was such a good question. I was going to give you credit, but then forgot. Sorry.

Hey you stole this question from me.

http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=As51esLbobIHNR73Q9Efqv_sy6IX;_ylv=3?qid=20080304152749AAFBpKe

The reason of course was that

a) this was not a real scientific conference, but simply a PR stunt by the right-wing think tank Heartland Institute.

b) virtually no climate scientists think the consensus is wrong.

http://www.logicalscience.com/consensus/consensus.htm

For those who think the credentials of the speakers were impressive, why do you think theologians, economists, geographers, botanists, biologists, right-wing policy strategists, statistical consultants, TV weathermen, petroleum engineers, etc. know more about climate science than climate scientists?

Are all scientists equal? I’m an environmental scientist with degrees in physics. I haven’t studied medical science at all, but since you think all scientists are equal, would you trust me to diagnose your illnesses and operate on you? If not, why would you trust a geographer’s opinion on climate science instead of a climatologist’s?

The answer is simple – a person in denial will listen to anybody who says what he wants to hear.

What is the name of the International Conference where USA banned Jewish immigration?

Posted by admin on February 4th, 2010 and filed under international conference | 4 Comments »

It was the 1938 Evian Conference .Give me my points!

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Evian_Conference
No high-level official was sent by the United States. Instead, Roosevelt’s friend, American businessman Myron C. Taylor, represented the U.S. at the conference and stated that the American contribution was to make the German and Austrian immigration quota fully available. The Australian delegate noted: "as we have no real racial problem, we are not desirous of importing one."[4] The French delegate stated that France had reached "the extreme point of saturation as regards admission of refugees," a sentiment repeated by most other representatives. The only country willing to accept many Jews was the Dominican Republic, offering to accept up to 100,000 refugees on generous terms.[
The fact that the conference did not pass a resolution condemning the German treatment of Jews was widely used in Nazi propaganda.[2] The lack of action further emboldened Hitler in his assault on European Jewry. Many historians refer to the Evian Conference as "Hitler’s green light for genocide."

The Evian conference is living proof that the so called democracies had feet of clay. I Fascists who gave support t wasn’t only the Jews, thew Great FDR sent Japanese to relocation camps, and prohibited the sending of arms to the legitimate Republican Government of Spain. Their racism was an expensive bit of stupidity because subsequently the US had to fight German and Italian Fascists who gave their support to Franco. It was also a disgrace that the only person who was willing to shelter the Jews was the bloody dictator of the Dominican Republic, Trujillo
most of the people who answered your question are not much better either

How can I find marketing/sales agent in conference & exhibition area?

I am in charge of the marketing/sales of an international conference held in China. Which is the best way to market it oversea? Finding an agent? How can I find one on commission basis after sales? Thanks for help in advance.

Hi Jade! A few questions for you to get you pointed in the right direction:

1. Is your organization based in the States or is it also based in China?
2. Are you marketing/selling to organizations in China or the States?

Might have some advice for you based on the answers to the above questions. (I’ve got over 20 years of experience in the meetings/conference industry.)

Warm Regards,
Christine

why are the PRSA international conferences so expensive?

Posted by admin on January 15th, 2010 and filed under international conference | 1 Comment »

They are well over $1000, sometimes upwards to $2000 just to attend. Not to mention travel and lodging. What is the benefit for being a PRSA member if you have to break the bank just to attend these, supposedly helpful and beneficial, conferences??

It costs a lot, but def go, did you go to Philly last year at the national level? I did and it was great we met Tim Russert so when he died last week i was really sad :( it was great, Mia Farrow spoke about Darfur and then Tim Russert’s speech was amazing too. I went with a few girls from my PRSSA chapter. I am hoping to be able to afford going to Detroit this year too, even though I have graduated so I guess I’ll become a PRSA member. I think its worth it, I met girls from Hawaii, there are HUGE networking advantages too I’m sure for PRSA members, I only know from PRSSA point of veiw but our advisor had cool things to go to during the conference too and she’s a PRSA member.
