How idiotic is it that Taiwan has to compete in international sporting events as "Chinese Taipei"?

Posted by admin on July 3rd, 2010 and filed under international events | 5 Comments »

Obviously, designating Taiwan as "Chinese Taipei" is to appease China. But exactly what would the PRC bullies do if international sports organizations were to suddenly designate Taiwanese athletes and teams as representing "Taiwan" instead of "Chinese Taipei"? Throw a temper tantrum, start a war, withdraw from competition (good riddance!), physically assault Taiwanese athletes….what…?

Its complete idiocy. There is no reason why Taiwan shouldn’t be allowed to compete as Taiwan or as the ROC in any international event. If countries and people weren’t so afraid of China they wouldn’t be able to do half the things that they are doing now.

What would China do if the Olympics, or other events started calling Taiwan, TAIWAN? Probably whine like a little baby, throw a tantrum, and withdraw from the event, and do some sort of political/diplomatic protest. Only to realize no one cares, and so the CCP masters would turn to their hatred back inwards and spread vile lies about the other countries who recognized Taiwan, claimed that the event committee was Anti-Chinese, that they were attempting to disrupt the harmony of China, and blah blah blah what ever crap they could come up with. Ending with a complete media blackout of the event and news pertaining to it. Would they go to war, most likely not. The current government of China is like a dog that goes around peeing on everything claim it as their own and then barking like it has rabies when someone says anything different. The only thing that happens in the end is the other county does what it wants, and China got to bark a lot.

As for the BSherman clone account, Gorge Washington’s (or more likely his Average American clone that was banned recently) answer. Taiwan is not a child separated from its motherland, considering Taiwan was NEVER IN THE ENTIRE HISTORY OF THE PRC, a Providence, a Territory, an out post, a fishing village, a whatever that would allow justifiable claim to the lands that are make up Taiwan. Beyond that the Republic of China government that is the legal government of Taiwan, has been in existence for FAR longer than the PRC has even been a wet dream of Mao. Therefore his first statement is already proven by historical facts to be complete lies. His second statement with even a glancing view of the link provided proves that it is also complete crap. There is NO mention of REUNIFYING anything, because the CCP governing body of the PRC is not willing to submit the rule of the Republic of China. Therefore there can be no ReUnification. The document signed was the first step, (in many people’s opinion to be a major sell out move), in a free trade agreement with China. It is not a unifying treaty it is just a trade agreement that the CCP will use to weaken Taiwan’s independence and economic stability.

Does the reporting of international events (particularly war) influence domestic political matters?

Do we get the coverage we deserve?

Don’t know where you’re writing from, but from my vantage point in the US we get very little news at all. Our two current wars are mute testimony to how that ignorance of real events affects politics. Vietnam was finally halted because the news actually reported how many soldiers were dying and read their names on TV. We haven’t even felt the financial pinch of these wars because they’re both being waged on credit.

What you think of the media coverage of national and international events?

Posted by admin on March 14th, 2010 and filed under international events | 2 Comments »

I want you guys to express yourselves, shout out, write out, as much as you want. I want to know if I’m the only that thinks the media fabricates stories, but support what u say ;) I think the media for instance does a horrible job wit the whole middle east thing. Tell me what YOU think. :)

The media is so fascinated that Iraq has a number of groups having a problem coming together to strengthen their country while they are looking on as the Republicans are vehemently dividing ours.
Our Politicians want to stick their noses into the workings of other countries as clearly happened in Iraq and could care less what is happening at home.
I guess that is how Republicans operate.

The ‘Communist Threat:

– The Korean War

– ANZUS and SEATO

– The referendum to ban the CPA

– The Petrov Affair

The Vietnam War:

– Domino Theory

– Conscientious objectors

– Supporters of the war

Consequences of international events

– The ‘boat people’ of the 1970’s

– Other post WW2 migration

– Refugees from other conflicts

– Forming closer ties with region: e.g. the Colombo Plan

– ‘Integration’ and ‘asssimilation’ of migrants

– Multiculturalism

– The ‘varied’ Migrant experiences

i am sure you want a really detailed answer on each item..

but all these items lead to some of the toughest immigration laws in the world. you can not get even a tourist visa without showing that you leave the country.
