How do you think Hwa Chong International School in Singapore ? Is it good or bad?

What I heard about this School is that, it offers IB diploma programme.Is it recognisable worldwide?
I also heard that this school has a good teacher since the teacher is Mr Samuel Lim. From the webpages that I checked he has produced a good badge of student that able to get marvellous scores. I just do not know about the other teachers.

So should I consider myself to this school or other international school such as Anglo Chinese International School or St. Joseph International School?

Hello I’m a student of hwa chong international and i’ll give you my honest comments.

Last year was a turmoil and many teachers could not teach at all and things were horrible. This year they got in a batch of quite competent teachers to the school. Nonetheless, you should do your research at the two other local international school in Singapore before making your decision to join the school or not. I’ve not been taught by Mr Lim, but I’ve heard from those that have been taught by him disliked him at the start but soon learn to like him.

You will want to consider where the students come from too. In HCIS, most of the students are Asians while in ACS of SJI you might find some western students. Thus, there might be some cultural differences you might want to consider.

Ask me how i rate the school last year i give it 3/10. This year as of now, maybe 7/10 or something like that. I advice you to do more research on the other schools before deciding.

Any email you receive that is unsolicited, that sounds too good to be true IS too good to be true; particularly if it involves Nigeria. It’s sad to say but with how many scammers come from that region, they’ve made their entire country look bad.

I was not amused by Mr.Benson quitting the elite ICC Umpire as the cricketers are not respecting the Umpire’s decision and needs the confirmation of the video referral system to clarify the decision !! I mean , the umpire r bound to make mistakes and they r human too so why have people started doubting their decision ?? Is machine replacing the Umpires ???

I don’t see how it can possibly make life more difficult for them. Benson blamed the referral system, but the real reason he retired is that he’s got some health problems.

If anything, the referral system must be a relief to the players. Before the referral system, if the umpires made a wrong decision, and it influenced the result of the match, they would find out about that error after coming off the field, it’s too late to do anything about it, and they would feel awful.

With the referral system in place, a wrong decision can be corrected before any damage is done. So there is no chance of a wrong decision changing the outcome of the result, which is a relief to the umpires.

No the referral system is not replacing umpires, since it is still making them make a decision.
