Brighton is really close and you'll have the least amount of traffic and no toll roads.
Once you get familiar with the drive you'll start noticing country roads you can take just to vary the drive.
You can even take a bus/shuttle from Brighton if you don't want to hassal with your car all of the time.
The houses/rents cost less in Brighton and you'll have fresh produce all summer long....esp. green chiles, beans, ristras, onions, strawberry fields to pick your own strawberries, etc.
MANY Pilots live there because of the great drive and short distance to the airport.

It's not an airline; they don't offer student discounts. However, there are travel agencies that can arrange for lower fares as they book in bulk blocks of tickets, such as

Comment on How can I go to a better university as an international student? by Cynthia C

Well, first, ask yourself why you want to go to a better university. Is it because of reputation? Is it because of your academic interests? Is it because you're not happy with the area in which your college is? These answers will help inform what you do and which schools you look at. Transferring isn't really a very hard thing to do at most universities, so as long as your GPA is decent, you shouldn't have too many problems. Most universities (I don't know of any that don't) have an office to help international students. Contact this office at the school you want to go to and see what steps you need to take as an international student. Do you have friends who are international students at other colleges? If so, ask them what they think, and for any advice about it they might have.

Good luck.

Added later: I don't really know about working if you're on a student visa. That would definitely be a question for your International Students' Office. From what I understand, you can work on campus for up to 20 hours, but you should check that out with them. It's ok if you want to go to a school with a better reputation, just look around for one. Try finding one with more Chinese students, because the odds are that they are going there for the same reasons that you want to go there. Most schools, at least most public schools, aren't that difficult to transfer into, so you've just got to find out the requirements for the schools you're interested in. Also, don't pin your hopes on just one school. Get information from a lot of schools and then apply to at least 4 or 5.
References :
but all these items lead to some of the toughest immigration laws in the world. you can not get even a tourist visa without showing that you leave the country.
References :
ACS is a good school and it has the facilities for international students.
However, Hwa Chong on the other hand, is a chinese school and IB is not neccessarily a good choice for many people.

I have friends who took IB and complained that they don't learn things in depth, the teachers merely skim through lots of things, but things are never elaborated.
References :
Hello I'm a student of hwa chong international and i'll give you my honest comments.

Last year was a turmoil and many teachers could not teach at all and things were horrible. This year they got in a batch of quite competent teachers to the school. Nonetheless, you should do your research at the two other local international school in Singapore before making your decision to join the school or not. I've not been taught by Mr Lim, but I've heard from those that have been taught by him disliked him at the start but soon learn to like him.

You will want to consider where the students come from too. In HCIS, most of the students are Asians while in ACS of SJI you might find some western students. Thus, there might be some cultural differences you might want to consider.

Ask me how i rate the school last year i give it 3/10. This year as of now, maybe 7/10 or something like that. I advice you to do more research on the other schools before deciding.
