There are shuttle buses that run from suburban hotels to and from O’Hare for very cheap. That would probably be your best bet. Search O’hare shuttle buses and you should be golden. References :

I’d rent a car, Metra can get you there but its not easy to get around Palatine once you’re there.

Hey man I live in palatine and there is a train station there on palatine road. Hop on the Metra and off you go for about 5 bucks
