is it harmful for new born kids to fly? does the drop in air pressure and cabin conditions affect the middle ear and pressure monitoring apparatus of kids? when is it safe for new born kids to be taken on international flights? i mean after how many days/ weeks or months after birth can infants fly? i would appreciate inputs from pediatricians if any?

I am not a pediatrician but my son was 3 days old and I took him on an airplane from island to island in Hawaii and he slept the whole time.

Its ok. Just make sure the flight attendant know your requirements first.

Do this kid have a passport yet? Cause if your going to Europe, Asia, South America, Africa, Austrailia & Central America except Mexico. They need a passport. But not the Canada, Mexico, or the Caribian ( sorry about the spelling) untill 2007 then they would need one. Like everyone else.
I would call your travel agent to find out for sure.
