World Peace. I think it is A) impossible, and B ) horrible if ever made possible. There are certain fundamental differences that can never be solved thru compromise, or left alone with "to each his own." (For example, what if "my own" is raping babies or stomping puppy-skulls or something.) And at times, those irreconcilable differences will lead to war.

World peace could be possible only if all the differences that people fight for/over were erased. World peace would come only when all humans conformed to one nationality, one religion/philosophy, one race, one economic system, in short – one way of thinking and one way of behaving. That is exactly what every dictator has tried to do — and millions have (quite rightly) gone to war to stop them.

Think how bland and boring, how uniform and homogenized that world would be.

The truth is periodic wars – while doubtlessly tragic – are preferable to eternal peace. Thus I have no commitment to world peace.

I make my commitment to world peace by learning what Jesus Christ taught and by trying to follow it in my every day life: Love thy neighbor as Ye love thyself. You think the world might be better then?

World peace is a laughable idea. Noble but, impossible. Commit yourself to a more reasonable goal, like world survival. Even that though, would be wildly difficult. Sorry to be pessimistic but, it’s just the way I see it. The whole idea of peace on Earth is contradictive.
